BANGKOK TRANSIT GUIDE

Plan a Bangkok BTS or MRT trip with Trainly

Trainly brings a fare calculator and station arrival timetable together, so you can check the basics of a journey before heading out. This guide explains what each tool shows and how to read its estimates.

Estimate a route and fare

  1. Open the fare calculator and choose stations from the list or map.
  2. Select your origin and destination. Trainly displays an estimated fare with route details, journey time, and station count.
  3. Review the route before you travel. Fare and route information is based on Trainly’s database and can change when operators update their information.

Use the Trainly fare calculator to check a specific trip. The result is a planning estimate; check operator notices for current service and fare changes.

Check scheduled train arrivals

  1. Choose the station where you are waiting.
  2. Select a line and direction to see the next scheduled trains.
  3. Check the direction and platform information before boarding.

Trainly’s arrival countdown is calculated from timetable data. It does not track a train’s live GPS location, so use operator announcements for real-time service changes.

What the data does—and does not—tell you

Trainly’s public pages describe fares and routes as database-based and arrival countdowns as timetable-based. The data sources page lists the source and recorded verification date for active datasets. These dates come from imported metadata; they are not a guarantee of live train status. Confirm time-sensitive details with the train operator.

Frequently asked questions

Can Trainly calculate a Bangkok BTS or MRT fare?

Yes. Choose origin and destination stations in the fare calculator to see the estimated fare and route details available for that trip.

Are arrival times live GPS predictions?

No. The countdown is calculated from timetable data, not the train’s live location. Check operator announcements for current disruptions or delays.

Where can I see the latest data refresh time?

Trainly lists its recorded verification date on the data sources page. This is the date stored with the imported dataset, not a live refresh or GPS timestamp. Confirm important changes with the operator before travelling.
